Privacy at Nereid

Effective October 12, 2026. This notice describes the current beta service operated under the Nereid name.

Account and trip data

Nereid stores your account details, a password hash, active sessions, saved trip plans, catch logs, and outcomes to provide your workspace. Trip information may include private coordinates and notes. Account data is scoped to its owner and is not a public fishing report.

Device storage

A session cookie keeps you signed in. Browser storage remembers display preferences and local drafts where available. Downloaded exports and trip briefs remain on the device where you save them; deleting your account cannot remove those files.

Performance and reliability

We collect allowlisted performance timings, broad device/network categories, success or failure counts, and client error counts to improve reliability. These measurements exclude passwords, recovery tokens, account identifiers, private coordinates, URLs, and freeform notes. Performance collection honors Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control.

Hosting and security systems also process technical request information, such as IP addresses and request logs, to serve and protect the application. Environmental data providers receive the requests needed to retrieve their data.

Service providers and retention

The service runs on Vercel and Railway with a PostgreSQL database and environmental data storage. Google Fonts serves the page typography. Configured email providers deliver account messages. Account records remain while your account is active. Operational logs and backups can have separate retention periods; deleting live records does not instantly erase existing backup copies.

Your controls

Use your account settings to export your data, revoke sessions, or permanently delete live account records and owned trip data. See support for access problems and the configured contact address.
